Bullfrog Bats Get Best of Mallards Pitching

GREEN BAY — The Madison Mallards (13-7) could not figure out Green Bay Bullfrogs (7-13) starting pitcher Austin Hancock, who went seven scoreless innings, giving up just three hits in a 9-2 Bullfrogs victory at Joannes Stadium on Sunday.

Mallards starting pitcher Patrick Boyle had a rough go of it, lasting just three innings, giving up five hits and two walks in addition to three earned runs. Green Bay would add runs off Madison relievers Chase Hoag, Logan Scherer, Luke Shilling and Mitch Vogrin.

Offensively, the Mallards could only muster seven hits, four of which came in the final two innings, thus ending their four-game winning streak. The Bullfrogs snapped their own four-game losing skid with the triumph.

Six different Green Bay bats generated RBI’s on this day, led by Colton Onstott and Austin Clemons, who each drove in a pair.

The Mallards get their first off day of the season on Monday before hosting the Kalamazoo Growlers Tuesday night at Warner Park. Coverage starts at 7:00 p.m. on 106.7 FM, 1670 AM, The Zone.
