Bucks sign Tim Frazier, waive Christian Wood

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Milwaukee Bucks have signed guard Tim Frazier and waived forward Christian Wood.

The Bucks’ guard depth took a major hit over the weekend with the news that Malcolm Brogdon (foot) will miss 6-8 weeks.

Frazier spent training camp and the preseason in Milwaukee. He brings plenty of NBA experience, most recently with the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 5.0 points and 4.4 assists in 47 appearances with 17 starts this season.

It’s a tough situation for Wood who has become a fan favorite in Milwaukee. He has dominated the G-League during his time with the Wisconsin Herd. There should be some interest from other teams as he continues to search for his spot in this league.

Bucks assign Christian Wood to Herd

MILWAUKEE | The Milwaukee Bucks have assigned Christian Wood to the Wisconsin Herd.

Wood has performed well in the NBA G League. In 19 starts for the Herd this season, Wood is averaging 28.4 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.2 blocks and 1.1 steals per game.

In ten games with the Bucks, he is averaging 3.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in 5.1 minutes per game.

Many Bucks’ fans on social media have been wanting to see Wood get more playing time. But there are just too many guys ahead of him to find quality minutes.

Now, with the addition of Nikola Mirotic from the New Orleans Pelicans, Wood will find it more difficult to get minutes for the Bucks.

Wood will be active for the Herd Sunday afternoon when they take on the Canton Charge.

Bucks bolster training camp roster with summer league standout

For the second day in a row the Milwaukee Bucks made an addition to their roster with the start of training camp only a little over a month away.

Christian Wood and the Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to a deal, as first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

Wood spent time this summer with the Milwaukee Bucks as a member of their Las Vegas summer league roster. The 6-foot-11 center averaged 20.4 points, 10.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per summer league contest. He was honored as part of the All-Las Vegas summer league first-team.

According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel the deal is non-guaranteed.

Wood has played in 30 games in the NBA across two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers and the Charlotte Hornets. He has averaged 3.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game in his NBA career.
