Damon Amendolara is the late night host for the new CBS Sports Radio Network, which launched January 2, 2013. He’ll be anchoring the 6p-9p EST time slot.
D.A. hosted the evening show on Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub from its launch in August ’09 to December ’12. D.A. was also the sideline reporter for the New England Revolution on Comcast for three seasons (’10-’12) and is a frequent guest and fill-in host for CSN’s Sports Tonight/Sports Sunday.
D.A. is also a co-anchor on CSNNE’s Pregame Live and Postgame Live, two hours before and after every Patriots game. He also appeared weekly on Fox-25 Boston.
He is a regular contributor to NFL Films and the NFL Network’s Top 10 series. He has also appeared on SNY’s Wheel House, ESPN News’ Air Check, as well as NFL Films Presents on ESPN.
D.A. is also a regular guest host at Sportsradio 660 WFAN in New York. Prior to The Sports Hub, he worked at WQAM in Miami starting in January ’08. D.A. handled weeknights there while also hosting “Fins Final” postgame on the state-wide Dolphins Radio Network. D.A. spent nearly five years in the Mighty Midwest, hosting the morning show at Kansas City’s 610 Sports from ’04 through December ’07. D.A. originally joined the station for its launch in September ’03, initially anchoring the evening show, 6-9 p.m.
He is an acting member on the board for Boston’s Room to Dream charity, which transforms the environments of chronically-ill, inner-city or suburban children. He also spearheaded the “Team D.A.” charity, having raised money for causes like the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Bridge Home, the KCMO Little League and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters. While in Miami, Team D.A. organized a summer soccer camp coached by professional players of Miami FC for underprivileged youth in South Florida.
The D.A. Show began at Sportsradio 770 ESPN in Ft Myers-Naples, FL from 4-6 p.m. He was also a play-by-play voice of the Ft. Myers Miracle, minor league affiliate of the Minnesota Twins. He also handled pregame and postgame for the Florida Firecats of the Arena Football League.
D.A. graduated from Syracuse University in ’01. At the ‘Cuse, Damon was Sports Director at WAER Radio, following in the Orange footsteps of Marv Albert, Mike Tirico and Bob Costas. There he covered the Big East, while broadcasting SU football, basketball and lacrosse and received the ’00 Syracuse Press Club Award for “Best Sports Radio Story.”
He has also hosted the pregame and postame for the Rochester (NY) Rhinos Radio Network (USL soccer), guest hosted at WYSL 1040 in Rochester, NY and handled play-by-play for the Wake Forest Radio Network on the 2002 Preseason NIT Title Game.
