Mallards drop second straight

The Madison Mallards have dropped the first two games of the second half of the season. The Battle Creek Bombers muscled their way past the Mallards by a score of 10-2 last night behind some explosive offense.

Early on in the game, the Bombers were able to build a sizable lead behind two home runs at accounted for seven of their runs. Although the Mallards were able to collect a respectable eight hits, their only two runs came off of the bat of David Vinksy, who had a home run in the third inning. The Mallards relief pitching was able to limit the damage after the third inning last night, as they threw the last 6 innings without surrendering another run.

The Mallards will look to get back on the winning track as they open up a two-game series in Kenosha. After the series in Kenosha, the Mallards will stay on the road for another series against Battle Creek. Be sure to tune in to 96.7 FM/1670 AM The Zone  to hear every pitch this season.
