Mallards top Bullfrogs 4-2

Despite clinching the first-half crown in the South Division on Saturday, the Madison Mallards didn’t have a letdown on Sunday, as they went to Green Bay and beat the Bullfrogs 4-2.

A double from Justice Bigbie scored the go-ahead run to break a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning, and that’s all the Mallards’ pitching staff would need to close things out. Leon Hunter threw two scoreless innings before the game was called in the top of the seventh due to rain.

First baseman Tyler Plantier was credited with a pair of RBI, while centerfielder Trevor Boone drove in one.

Madison improved to 26-8 on the season and will open a series at Wisconsin Rapids on Monday.
