MADISON, Wis. — Troy G. Ward announced his resignation Monday afternoon, following just one season as head coach and general manager of the Madison Capitols.
In a written statement, Ward said he “appreciated the opportunity to work with the Madison Capitols organization. At this time, I will be moving on to pursue other professional opportunities in the game of hockey.”
Ward’s squad finished with a 25-27-5 record in its second United States Hockey League season, placing eighth in the Eastern Conference out of nine teams.
A search for Ward’s replacement will begin immediately, led by team president Bob Gazich.
